I have so many plastic spoons at home!
Erika Bailey-Johnson, BSU
20:20
Very powerful video. Not to mention that then the plastic spoon gets thrown away...usually.
Cynthia Pederson
22:29
I do have some in the camper just because I don't want to lose my metal ones.
Mary Carlson
27:44
Can I feel OK about (having to) use plastic bags in grocery & other stores, as long as I return them to the stores to their recycling bins?
Cynthia Pederson
27:45
I prefer the natural elements such as paper to plastic just as it is degradable and easily compostible.
Kari
29:43
I grew up in a family without a lot of money. We were taught to not waste anything and had to save money with all of our choices. Those values stuck with me.
Angie Clark
29:48
I have gotten away from using plastic bags, because they are annoying. They take up space and recycling them is something that takes effort. I have more than enough reusable bags. My life is more simple now, because fewer annoying plastic bags.
Erika Bailey-Johnson, BSU
31:46
Target lets me use my cloth bags...I just have to bag myself which isn't an issue for me.
Lisa Jones
31:47
I've been requesting paper bags because I can't use my reusable bags, is that better?
Angie Clark
33:08
Plastic containers drive me nuts too... I am loving my pyrex bowls. Less clutter.
Angie Clark
35:42

Cynthia Pederson
47:02
How about the nickel mines for batteries and their effect just to reduce emissions but ruining the earth since they are toxic to mine and throw away.
Mary Carlson
48:44
Lisa, I have the same question about caps-on. I got in the habit of removing those as I thought they were supposed to be removed.
Kari
51:25
Target still lets you bring in your own bags.
Angie Clark
51:37
Yes, but you have to bag yourself, not a big deal
Lisa Jones
52:19
Is Target still ok with that? They were right away but I thought that changed, has anyone used their own bags recently?
Angie Clark
52:35
Yes, I only use my own bags at Target.
Erika Bailey-Johnson, BSU
52:38
I did last weekend...
Lisa Jones
52:54

Jennifer Fraik
53:01
I have used my own bags there recently as well; however, I went through self check out in hopes of reducing it as an issue
Erika Bailey-Johnson, BSU
53:15
Great points, Jordan!!!
Angie Clark
54:44
How do they weigh your stuff in a glass jar... are you baying extra for the weight? Also, are they allowed, because of sanitation?
Erika Bailey-Johnson, BSU
55:27
Oh! And I just remembered another "R" that I've heard before..."Refuse" Works well for straws and plastic bags in gas stations and other stores.
Angie Clark
57:31
Ya, if I buy a jar of spice a lot of times it gets old before I can use the whole amount. I like the bulk option for getting exactly the amount I need.
Amanda Gartner

Cynthia Pederson
01:03:51

Jennifer Fraik

Mighty Nest is a fun way to start transitioning to a more sustainable lifestyle - you pay a monthly fee (around $11) and they mail you a "fix" every month - something sustainable to replace everyday things - such as those stash bags and beeswax. I have loved this and have purchased additional of many of the products and fully transitioned much of our household!

Windmills would be great if they paid for themselves but again we have more cost for less energy, great idea but need better innovation.
